Equipment

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Rubber spatula or spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or wax paper
  • Fork (for dipping)
  • Small microwave-safe bowl (for melting chocolate) or a double boiler

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 8 oz white chocolate melted
  • Sprinkles or crushed nuts for coating optional

Instructions

  • Mix Ingredients: In your medium mixing bowl, combine the crushed vanilla wafers, softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix everything together thoroughly with a spatula or spoon until well blended and a smooth dough forms.
  • Form Truffles: Scoop out small, even amounts of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them between your palms to form smooth balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter.
  • Chill: Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Place the rolled truffles on the prepared sheet and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until they are firm enough to handle easily.
  • Coat with Chocolate: Once the truffles are chilled, melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in short intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
  • Dip Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Use a fork to lift the truffle out of the chocolate, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl.
  • Add Toppings (Optional): If desired, immediately sprinkle the coated truffles with sprinkles or crushed nuts before the chocolate sets.
  • Set and Serve: Place the dipped truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for a faster set. Once set, these delightful truffles are ready to be enjoyed!
